Back country courses

Hi we are now taking bookings for our winter backcountry camp in Bansko, Bulgaria.

 Camp dates

  • March 18-25 £990

 

The camp includes

  • 6 Days of hiking and coaching with Gav, former British World Cup/Olympic Team Coach and Niki a local  to Bansko and fully qualified mountain guide,
  • Transfers from Sofia Airport,
  • 7 nights stay in a fully catered Chalet, including breakfast, evening meal and a packed lunch for on the mountain!!
  • The accommodation is on a shared room basis.

Lift pass is not included in the price.

Hire of specialized equipment can be arrange but not included in the price (Transceivers, Avalanche probe, Shovel, Snow shoes and Walking poles)

This course will be covering the use of Avalanche transceivers and looking at the snow pack to asses the risk of avalanches.

There will be a lot of hiking involved in this course but when we get to the top it will be a mountain of untracked snow to ride down. We will look at the techniques for riding in powder but to get the most out of this course you should be able to ride down red runs on a mountain.
